UPDATED! Huge Underwater Pyramid Discovered in Azores Near Portugal – Sunken Atlantis

Archeologists from the Portuguese Association of Archeological Research (APIA) have identified new archeological evidence on Pico island that supports their belief that human occupation of the Azores predates the arrival of the Portuguese by many thousands of years. The new evidence comprises of a great variety of protohistoric pyramidal rock structures, some of them 13 meters tall. The Azorean archipelago was discovered by the Portuguese around 1427. Archeologists working on site believe the structures were created by ancestral occupiers of the island suggesting they were places of worship with funeral ritual purposes. They have said that dozens of similar structures have been identified in the Madalena area of Pico island.

UPDATE: There still appear to be some doubts by some over the reality of this ‘discovery’ as indicated by some ostensibly local commenters (as their spelling mistakes also seem to indicate) under the original article below, but then again; They could be trolls, as an underwater pyramid like this would be on the top of the list of Darwinian suppressions.

I’m a local and these news made a big stirr around here when it first came out, over an year ago. Unfortunably, it appears to have only been a glitch on the instruments, as the depths do not match with underwater topography of the area. Furthermore, the area is a popular diving place due to the presence of underwater volcanic vents and small reef, and is therefore well explored, and such a structure would have been discovered years ago.
As for the legends about the thousands, as written above), there are indeed reports of artifacts from ancient civilizations found on the westernmost islands, but they are yet to be accepted by the historian community. islands being inhabited before the portuguese found them almost 600 years ago (and not

This is fake. This association is a fraud and a scam that has for years claiming to find absurd archaeological evidences in Azores. They don’t even are archaeologist. Its a shame for our class.

YET, regardless, acc. to the next video, there appear to be lots of pyramidal and megalithic structures on the Azores that are very similar to structures on the island of Mauritius, as well as other places. Watch this video, titled “Piramidi delle Azzorre” (Pyramids of Azores) by an Italian researcher Allessandra Lusetti from the Biblioteca Municipale in Madalena, who documented these very interesting photos on the islands. GIANT STRUCTURES ON AZORES

Also the next video talks about dolmen, passage mounds, and other archaeological mysteries, like cart ruts (IN ROCK!)very similar or identical rather to cartruts on Malta. These were obviously made in post Flood times when the rock or rock-mud was still softer and mouldable and it must have taken greater strength than normal humans possess to push heavy laden Bronze Age carts through soft mud! The Navy is Investigating

Portuguese news reported the discovery of a very large under water pyramid first discovered by Diocleciano Silva between the islands of São Miguel and Terceira in the Azores of Portugal.

According to claims, the structure is said to be perfectly squared and oriented by the cardinal points. Current estimates obtained using GPS digital technology put the height at 60 meters with a base of 8000 square meters. The Portuguese Hydrographic Institute of the Navy currently has the job of analyzing the data to determine whether or not the structure is man-made.

“The pyramid is perfectly shaped and apparently oriented by the cardinal points,” Silva told Diário Insular, the local newspaper.

The pyramid was found in an area of the mid-Atlantic that has been underwater for about 3500 years, at the end of the last Ice Age when the Northern icecap was melting from its peak when Atlantis’ civilization was responsible for building the pyramid.

While the Portuguese Navy still hasn’t determined the origins, many might question why this hasn’t been first reported on sooner than late 2012. Certainly the NOAA who studies volcanic activity in the area of the pyramid would have discovered the pyramid through sonar imaging and so forth since the area is heavily studied due to volcanic activity.

Archaeologists from the Portuguese Association of Archaeological Research have recently discovered evidence on Pico island that suggests that humans existed in the Azores region before the arrival of the Portuguese thousands of years ago. As of today, there is still no explanation for who created the rock art found on the islands.

The Azores are an interesting region as they are a chain of nine volcanic islands in three main groups that are roughly 930 miles west of Lisbon. They are all situated around the fault lines between the North American, Eurasian and African tectonic plates.

The exact coordinates of the pyramid have not been released. Silvo believes that there may be a discovery of 2 more pyramids in the area as images suggest there could be a design link to that of the pyramids built in Egypt.
