First Geological Evidence for China’s [Da Yu’s] “Great Flood” Uncovered

Scientists have uncovered the first geological evidence for China’s “Great Flood,” an event marked in legend as the start of China’s first dynasty and the rise of its founding emperor.

The results, reported in the 5 August issue of Science, date the flood at 1920 B.C., several centuries later than suspected. This new timeline suggests that China’s first dynasty, Xia — as well as its founding Emperor Yu, famous for controlling the flood — also had a later start.

“The story of Yu taming the Great Flood is also the story of the beginnings of Chinese civilization,” said co-author David Cohen, assistant professor in the department of anthropology at National Taiwan University. “Yu’s control of the chaotic flood waters brought order to the lands, legend says, separating what would become a civilized Chinese center from the wild peripheries. This defined a people, as well as the social and political order in which they should live. It is central to Chinese identity and known by everyone there, just as Westerners know the story of Noah’s flood.”

Another part of the Shi Ji annals  written by the Han historian Sima Qian a century before the time of Jesus. Shima Qian referred to ancient sources in his writings, that are not extant anymore.  This chapter is about Yu the Great – Da Yu – whose father Gun failed to control the post Flood swelling lakes and rivers, and paid for it with his life! He was slain by ZhuRong

Yu his son took over the job, not just to save his own life, but most likely to save his family’s honour and reputation. Yu was known for his unswerving fealty to the emperor Shun that compelled him to finish the job, not even considering to return to his wife and children, even though he passed by his home in the course of his labours. For his faithfulness the Emperor chose him as his successor and Yu became the founder of he Xia dynasty.

Yu of Xia was styled Wenming. Yu’s father was Gun, whose father was the Emperor Zhuanxu, whose father was Changyi, whose father was Huangdi; so Yu was Huangdi’s great-great-grandson, and Zhuanxu’s grandson. Yu’s great-grandfather Changyi and his father Gun were both unable to sit on the Imperial throne, being simply officials. (see our diagram below)

Every school-child in China, Taiwan, and other Chinese places, learns already early on about their original Chinese patriarchs and their histories. But the most ancient Chinese history has become quite embellished over 4 1/2 thousand years and changed into mythology. As a result, the 21st Century Chinese are quite confused about their earliest primo-genitors, and if it weren’t for a very interesting discovery that this article reveals, their earliest patriarchs would have stayed obscure until the end of time.

INTRO: We apply the Euhemerist approach for historical origins — that thank God modern Chinese scholars also follow now — and so take “myths” serious as ’embellished legends’ that carry a factual core of true historical original characters who became super-naturally glorified via man worship & deification. We do not accept the Darwinian dogma (as Wicked Pedia uses) that the ancients purposely spun unfounded wild tales about themselves creating fictional primo-patriarchs, especially considering the fact that these legendary characters are mentioned by other ethne as well. Case in point: Chi You(蚩尤) patriarch Txiv Yawg of 12 Miao (Hmong) tribes, was mentioned by Chinese as the son of Yan Di(炎帝), albeit with different spelling, and without deification, of course, depicted as an ‘enemy’ defeated by Huang Di at the Battle of Zhuolu. The Yellow Emperor (Huang Di 黃帝) is considered to be the ancestor of the Chinese people. The clan of the Yellow Emperor (Huangdi zu 黃帝族) and the clan of Yan Di his brother (Yandi zu 炎帝族), are thought to have represented the Qijia culture 齊家文化 in modern Gansu and Shaanxi provinces.

Later the tribes obviously moved east to found the cultures of the Central Plain 中原 as basic cultures of Chinese civilization, with a people later named 華夏 (or simply Hua 華 or Xia 夏) who founded China’s first dynasty, the Xia 夏 under ‘Da Yu’ the Great!

Another descendant of the Yellow Emperor’s clan is a clan with the surname Ji 姬 who later founded the Zhou Dynasty 周. Ancestorship of the Yellow Emperor was often construed to obtain legitimation for rulership. Even non-Chinese tribes would later claim their descendency from the Yellow Emperor.

Shang Dynasty [see article below↓] emperor Cheng Tang some Chinese historians stated his reign began in 1747 B.C. There are others who believe his reign began in 1675 B.C. Chinese emperor Cheng Tang (or: Da Yi) was recorded having a seven year famine verifying Joseph’s seven year famine in Genesis chapter 41. This seven year famine occurred 1704-1697 B.C. Emperor Cheng Tang must have been reigning during this time in world history. The famine was a direct result of real Climate Change when the real Ice Age ended because the warmer oceans — from Global Flood volcanism — cooled down which stopped the heavy rains eroding the Sphinx & pyramids, and which watered the Sahara cattle fields before it became desert.
