Dr. Henry Bauer, Why We Shouldn’t Trust Science [Esp. Historical Science]

Just under an hour- Absolutely worth listening to! via Skeptiko with many thanks for providing a great interview so freely

Henry Bauer: We have to be skeptical about what scientists say, because what scientists tell you is not necessarily the same as what science can tell you.

A selection of quotes from the interview

Henry Bauer: Right, thanks. I was turned on to science in high school and I studied chemistry and I taught chemistry and did research in chemistry [he is emeritus professor of chemistry and science studies, and emeritus dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, “Virginia Tech”]

Henry Bauer: Exactly, thank you. The thing is that even as science is accepted as being the hallmark of a true understanding, the fact of the matter is, the history of science shows quite clearly that scientific consensus, at any point in time, can’t be accepted as absolutely correct. Ivy league profs warns of the vice of conformism: “Think for yourself”

This is a good sign.  Fifteen Ivy league professors have offered advice and a warning to students everywhere –to recapture the spirit of truthseeking and free debate. The message might just catch on, because although the young strive to conform to fashionable norms, approximately none of them want to be seen doing so. Who wants to be a the weak minded conformist?

The real bigots are those who fear open-minded enquiry…

It’s sad that it needs to be said, but we don’t train children to question fashionable truths and always look at both sides.

Our advice can be distilled to three words:

Think for yourself. Continue reading Ivy league profs warns of the vice of conformism: “Think for yourself”

Does Recently (2012) Declassified Data Falsify Plate Tectonics?

FOR USE ONLY WITH FEATURE STORY, NOT FOR COMMERCIAL STOCK Bathymetric model of the North Atlantic. 3-D satellite and bathymetry model showing the topography of the Earth’s crust over the North Atlantic. Iceland (centre) sits on a central-oceanic ridge that is extremely volcanically active. Lava pushing up beneath this ridge forces the North American plate (left) and the Eurasian plate (lower right) apart. This process is known as plate tectonics. This image was created by the German Aerospace Center (DLR) using measurments from the ERS-1 satellite.

AP EDITOR INTRODUCTION: In the past ‘Continental Drift’ was not popular and considered a fairy tale. But then it was recently proven that indeed the continents had drifted away from each other. Therefore the ‘scientists’ were hard up to find a scientific solution to this phenomenon. And so they came up with “Plate tectonics” as a recent initial ‘explanation’ to the enigma of the continents looking like they fit together. Plate tectonics has certain components that are based on guesswork, like subduction for example. The “subduction” theory surmised that the continental plates would slip under other plates and bend downward and melt in the magma under the plates, where as at other places the plates would come and be formed from under other plates. Then comes along Dr. Smoot who mapped the earth’s entire ocean floor over 35 years and discovered that subduction does not happen at all, and the theory is bogus. WHY do Darwinian scientists hold on to the theory? Because the only other theory that is observed and does make sense is the so-called ‘Hydroplate Theory’ of Dr. Walt Brown, but blasted, “Brown is a creationist.” Voila! That’s why they hold on to a disproven theory. Enjoy Dr. Walt Brown’s And Smoot’s explanation:

By Dr. Walt Brown

Ocean floors constitute 70% of earth’s solid surface. They were largely unexplored between 1957 and 1970, when the plate tectonic (PT) theory was developed. It was frequently said that we knew more about Mars than about the ocean floor. As a result, the PT theory, which primarily attempts to explain features on the ocean floor, was developed in the blind, without the data needed to formulate it or test it. Why then was plate tectonics accepted with enthusiasm?

A Brewing Crisis. Before PT, the only theory that tried to explain earth’s major surface features was the 1912 continental drift theory. It claimed, as its name implies, that the amazing and obvious jig-saw fit of the east coast of the Americas with the west coast of Europe and Africa is because the continents drifted apart. No one knew why a supercontinent broke apart or how the pieces could move. Did thousands of miles of solid rock plow through thousands of miles of solid rock? Why couldn’t the earth-science experts explain the fit that the public could plainly see? (You who have read pages 110434, now understand all that—and much more.) Tomb of Gilgamesh Found in Uruk! By Wikipedia Damned Euhemerism Vindicated Again!

Wow! This was big news! Shocking! Gilgamesh turns out to be more than fiction or myth, contrary to what academia has been pushing for a century. Gilgamesh was a real person and they found his tomb, just as it was said in the epic, built under the course of the Euphrates River! It only got a little mention in the BBC (in One Minute World News) where Uruk – the origin of eponymous Iraq!

NOTE how the BBC says “believed found!” If it was “Lucy’s” bones found over a couple square kilometers, they’d say, “definite proof of humanoid primate!” See, it all depends on what they want you to believe.

In this case the find of Gilgamesh tomb ought to be called the find of the decade or of the 21st century, as yet another ancient literary source (2300 BC) turns out to be historical and less “mythological” than widely assumed. Uruk was the first city? Responsible for most first inventions, like writing, law, education, taxes, love songs, ethics, justice, agriculture, medicine, love and family? Wow, that early?

But inspite of all these proven first inventions, mainstream historians don’t trust Sumer’s own historical writings and denounce them as fictitious mythology without any core of truth. After all they were the immdiate descendents of stupid cavemen and hunter gatherers! And Euhemerism is ‘a bad bad method of doing history!’ For sure!!

“Live Science” Finds Canaanite DNA in the Lebanese But Replaces Patriarch Canaan With a Darwinist “Stone Age Hunter Gatherer”

Live Science Magazine reported that English archaeologists did indeed discover an overwhelming genetic similarity between the Canaanites of around 1500 BC and modern day Lebanese. They were so surprised! How inane and a-scientific can Darwinians get! We could have told them that fact without an expensive DNA test.

If they had read all the ancient chronicles and historians from that time and onward, they would have easily known and not been surprised at all, that they indeed descended from their patriarch Canaan!, and that not just because “Moses & Joshua wrote about it“, but these ‘scientists’ despise simple Euhemerist explanations!

‘Carbon-14-dated dinosaur bones less than 40,000 years old’ report scrapped from conference website

Carbon-14-dated dinosaur bones are less than 40,000 years old. Researchers have found a reason for the puzzling survival of soft tissue and collagen in dinosaur bones – the bones are younger than anyone ever guessed.  Carbon-14 (C-14) dating of multiple samples of bone from 8 dinosaurs found in Texas, Alaska, Colorado, and Montana revealed that they are only 22,000 to 39,000 years old.

Members of the Paleochronology group presented their findings at the 2012 Western Pacific Geophysics Meeting in Singapore, August 13-17, a conference of the American Geophysical Union (AGU) and the Asia Oceania Geosciences Society (AOGS).

Since dinosaurs are thought to be over 65 million years old, the news is stunning – and more than some can tolerate.  After the AOGS-AGU conference in Singapore, the abstract was removed from the conference website by two chairmen because they could not accept the findings.  Unwilling to challenge the data openly, they erased the report from public view without a word to the authors.  When the authors inquired, they received this letter:

“There is obviously an error in these data. The abstract was apparently noot reviewed properly and was accepted in error. For this reason  we have exercised our authority as program chairs and rescinded the abstract .. will no longer appear on the AOGS web site.” Minhan Dai & Peter Swart.

They did not look at the data and they never spoke with the researchers.  They did not like the test results, so they censored them. Continue reading ‘Carbon-14-dated dinosaur bones less than 40,000 years old’ report scrapped from conference website

The Role of Bias in the Origins Debate – Video by Brian Forbes + Powerpoint

By Brian Forbes

I aim to show that any evidence presented to us will invariably take a back seat to the fertility of the soil in our hearts. It is our bias that determines what we are able to see and accept for evidence.

Bias defined:  An emotional inclination to a particular view. Bias will often influence how you accept or reject evidence. Any position that has allowed for human evaluation will include bias. The question is not if there is bias. The question is what does your bias support. …and I can prove it.

Science is supposed to be based in objectivity – raw facts that lead to unemotional conclusions. The scientific method can be traced through:

  • René Descartes – who rid his mind of all bias
  • Francis Bacon – who described science in terms of cause and effect (experiments)
  • Karl Popper – falsifiability

They defined how we can know things without appealing to feeling. They set limits for “science” or knowledge. If it ain’t falsifiable,
it ain’t science. WATCH! Continue reading The Role of Bias in the Origins Debate – Video by Brian Forbes + Powerpoint

New Research: Dinosaur bones only tens of thousands years old, not millions!

Well, the REAL research results are in, and guess what, it’s of course studiously ignored by mainstream ‘historians’, ‘biologists’, and media naturally!  Empirical research from the ‘Georgia Center of Applied Isotope Studies’ on the collagen breakdown of dinosaur bones has come to the (for us not so) startling conclusion that dinosaurs are only at the most some tens of thousands years old, not millions.

Wasn’t the “65 million yr. old extinction” of the ‘dinos’ – for 5 millennia called dragons! – the first building block of Darwinian morphology of species, as promoted in the 18 hundreds by English banker scion John Lubbock?  Well it seems, metaphorically speaking, that this “rusted  T-Ford” of supposed “Macro-Evolution” on which all later ‘evolutionary models’ were based ostensibly, appears to still stand around,  in an old weed-overgrown garage from the roaring twenties, rather than in some mythical prehistory that never existed.

Six Ancient Maps that should not Exist

Numerous maps have been discovered throughout history that even today remain as an enigma to scholars as well as skeptics. How is it possible that they display features that were unknown to man according to mainstream history academics?

  1. The Map of the Creator! The Dashka Stone. Don’t accept the Darwinian myth that it would be “120 million” years old. it is merely post-Flood, so no older than 4.400 years ago.
  2. The Piri Reis map is a Turkish map based on ancient source maps when the real recent Ice Age was just starting around 2200 BC and Antarctica was still not frozen over yet, and perhaps still in its original position close to Madagascar?
  3. The Zeno map features islands that are now  under water, and therefore was drawn at least before 1500 BC but probably earlier as it shows Greenland without ice, and the island called Frisland that is mentioned in the for mainstream historians ‘controversial’ Oera Linda Bok, the ancient history of the Frisians in Northern Netherlands.
  4. The Ibn Ben Zara Map shows certain regions of Britain covered in ice caps. Why? Because it was based on maps of the times of the recent POST-Flood Ice Age lasting from around 2200 BC until 1500 BC. it also shows more islands in the Aegian Sea because the ocean level was 125 M (300 ft) lower before 1500 BC when the ocean levels rose due to the ending of the REAL Ice Age, due to REAL Climate Change, when the ocean temperatures came down to our present day level and the oceanic evaporation diminished which diminished also the heavier Ice Age rains that eroded the Giza pyramids and Sphinx!
  5. Hamy King Char Map, obviously also based on a pre-Ice Age map showing Siberian rivers emptying into the Arctic ocean! Also it depicts the ancient first Suez Canal!
  6. The King Jaime World Chart also based on base maps from before the end of the real Ice Age that ended around 1500 BC, as it shows the Sahara desert as fertile grazing land with huge lakes, rivers that are no called “wadis” (dry river beds) and cities? Amazing stuff. The Sahara was one giant cattle grazing area that dried up when the Ice Age rains stopped there and those cattle tribes had to move to other areas where they could survive. this huge movement of tribes and peoples is also called the Bronze Age Collapse, which was long proven to be caused by Climate Change and resulting desertification of the Sahara, Sinai, Saudi Arabia, the Middle East, the Indus Valley, the Silk Route countries like Turkmenistan where the great 2200 BC city of Gonur was totally deserted as the Margush river dried up, and parts of Mexico, as well as other places.

Science Is Not God, So Why Are People Trying To Turn It Into A Religion?

Michael Snyder — End of the American Dream April 25, 2017

In our world today, many have become convinced that science has all of the answers to humanity’s most important questions, and those that question the high priests of this new religion (scientists) are often accused of a form of “blasphemy”.  We saw this clearly on display last Saturday when protesters gathered in Washington D.C. and in about 600 other cities worldwide for the March for Science.   Those of us that are skeptical and that don’t necessarily buy into the scientific orthodoxy of the day were accused of “ignoring facts” and being “climate deniers” by various speakers at these protests.  But of course the truth is that scientific theories have always been in flux all throughout history, and this will continue to be the case as time moves forward.

Google defines science as “the intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the structure and behavior of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment.”  Personally, I very much believe in the scientific method because it has helped us to understand a great deal about how our world operates.

But in recent years, many in the scientific community have elevated “theory” to the same level as “fact”, and those that dare to question the most cherished theories of the scientific priesthood are often persecuted greatly.  Just ask all of the professors that have been “purged” from universities all across the United States for challenging conventional wisdom on climate change or the origin of life.

I have studied the scientific evidence that both sides have produced, and I have become entirely convinced that climate change is not primarily caused by human activity.  Does that make me a “heretic” according to these science zealots?
